Environmental
Mandala tries to create minimal waste, so we ask you to be mindful of bringing plastic packaging into the house and to recycle. We have a compost bin for vegetable and paper matter. We don’t cook meat in the house. Let’s be generous and re-share with kindness. We sometimes have countless tubes of suntan lotion, we overflow with oregano and we have beach mats & sarongs for you to use.
Extras
A bread van arrives around 12.30 each day and a vegetable van turns up in the summer. There are supermarkets at Sidari, Korfu Carne In Kavadades, and Kostas Biomarket in summer. There's space in the communal kitchen to store and prepare food and to hang out & feel free to eat at the big table in the garden.
To make life a little bit easier, I'm willing to go shopping for you and offer you a welcome pack with ingredients for a Greek salad, eggs, coffee and/or mountain tea. (€20).
We offer organic shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body wash in each bathroom. If you bring toiletries with you, please make sure they are organic and environmentally friendly as the water system is a soakaway system: It's very common in Greece where all the water used in the house is absorbed directly into the earth and we want to keep our local bacteria happy. Unlike in other places, you can throw loo paper directly into the toilet.
